The Marle Colour Choice

The Marle colourway here is heathered grey — visible two-tone yarn structure giving the trackpant subtle texture. This pairs directly with our Grey Marle Puff Hoodie for a head-to-toe marle co-ord look.

Why marle works particularly well on the Everyday weight: the lighter cotton-poly fabric shows the heathered texture clearly. On the heavier fleece (Heavy-Weight), marle texture is harder to see because the dense fabric absorbs visual variation. The Everyday weight lets the marle character actually appear.

The Slimmer Leg Decision

The Everyday cuts slimmer through the thigh and calf than the Heavy-Weight’s wider-leg silhouette. Two consequences:

  • Reads less “lounge”, more “casual streetwear” — the wider Heavy-Weight signals “I’m at home or travelling”; the slimmer Everyday signals “I’m out doing errands”
  • Different shoes pair best — Heavy-Weight works with chunky sneakers and slides; Everyday pairs better with low-profile sneakers, slip-ons, or even loafers

Both are valid silhouettes — they just create different aesthetic outcomes. Most customers in our base own either one or the other rather than both.

Construction

  • Fabric blend: Cotton-poly mix (specific ratio not disclosed by brand)
  • Waist: Elastic with internal flat drawcord
  • Pockets: Side pockets (front-angled), no back pockets
  • Cuff: Ribbed at ankle, slimmer than Heavy-Weight cuff
  • Length: Sits at or just above ankle bone on average heights
  • Branding: Small Mr Winston wordmark on outside hip, embroidered (not printed)

Everyday Track Pant FAQ

Should I buy Everyday or Heavy-Weight if I’m only buying one trackpant?

Climate decides. NZ year-round wear: Heavy-Weight has more versatility because it works winter through autumn comfortably. Mostly summer and warmer months: Everyday is more wearable through hot days. If you travel internationally to colder climates, Heavy-Weight wins. If most of your wear is around home in mild weather, Everyday wins.

Will the slimmer cut feel restrictive after the wider Heavy-Weight?

The Everyday is slimmer than Heavy-Weight but still relaxed-fit, not skinny. Cotton-poly blend has subtle stretch that the heavier cotton fleece doesn’t, so movement isn’t restricted. If you’re used to the wide-leg drape of the Heavy-Weight, the Everyday will feel more shaped initially — but most customers adapt to the slimmer cut within a few wears.

Will the cotton-poly blend pill or pile?

Some pilling is normal on cotton-poly blends within the first 10-15 wash cycles, particularly in high-friction zones (inner thighs, where bag straps sit). Most pilling can be removed with a fabric shaver or careful trimming. After the initial settling period, pilling stops as the loose fibres are gone. The fabric structure remains intact.

Can I tumble dry the Everyday Track Pant?

Low-heat tumble dry is fine occasionally — the cotton-poly blend handles heat better than pure cotton. But repeated high-heat drying will shrink the fabric and break down the elastane in the waistband. Best practice: hang dry whenever possible, low-heat tumble only when necessary. The Everyday dries faster than the Heavy-Weight on a line, so hanging usually isn’t slow.
